Slime Travel

"Slime Travel" is the new temporary title for my series concept that pre-dates the Fear Hole and very nearly beat it to becoming my first flash series. What I'd want to do with it is still too advanced for my level (laziness) but it's not a project I've ever completely abandoned, and who knows, I might at least make a stand-alone short one of these years.

After an unfortunate mishap with atomic physics, exterminator Sam Gregor finds himself the last man on Earth in the year 16,000,000, where insects, arachnids and mollusks have evolved a civilization that curiously mirrors our own, except perhaps the fact that all technology is alive and self-aware.

Here we see Sam with his loyal friends, Remote and Couch. Pursued by the insect equivalent of the Men In Black, he gets taken in by Fran, a female cockroach with a highly unnatural affection for him. It's like Mork & Mindy with more mucus.

Another obstacle I face with this is that I have no idea what Fran, or frankly any of the insects should actually look like. Sketches have included photo-realistic arthropods, gigeresque monsters and the kinds of simple cartoon bugs you would see in a Far Side cartoon. I just can't find a way to draw insects that I'm comfortable with.
