CLASS: ARTHROPOID
Fusion between a human and a blister beetle. Also known as "lovebugs," these small arthropoids secrete a defensive oil that burns flesh to the touch, but smells sweet and affects most living things like a concentrated reproductive pheromone. Even asexual organisms feel a powerful desire to embrace its blistering surface even as it begins to consume them. Its leathery outer covering is naturally black, but its oils reflect a swirling rainbow of colors.

This one is a darker colored creature than my last upload (Detrivile) but not meant to be as inky black as a couple of my other monsters (Jabbersnatch). I may go back and darken some of my other monsters like this where appropriate, but I'm not sure I like how it looks yet.
Blister beetles or Meloids are a massive and diverse group in the real world with some very interesting traits. In some species, the parasitic larvae use sex pheromones to attract their hosts, and oddly enough, the toxins of the adults are the source of the famous aphrodisiac "spanish fly."
Bugaboil's design is specifically inspired by a variety adorably known as a Black Bladder-Bodied blister beetle.
