If you think anthropogenic (human-influenced) climate change is a lie, a hoax, impossible, or otherwise nothing anybody should ever be concerned about, you're stupid and don't know anything. I'm looking at you, absolutely everybody who posts on freerepublic.
The only REAL reason anybody denies environmental issues is that they feel too big to care about them.
Yes, it is true that anthropogenic environmental change/disruption does indeed exist, and there is evidence of it in increasing degrees throughout human history. Yes, there are other non-human factors which affect the environment, but that does not dismiss or make irrelevant human assisted changes.
The thing that really gets me is that whether or not the climate is changing, and whether or not humans are responsible, it seems like everything that would be good for the environment is simply more RIGHT. Maybe I was just brainwashed by Ranger Rick magazines when I was little, but it seems to me like environmental responsibility is a moral necessity, whether there's threat of global destruction or not.
Yeah, a lot of the solutions would be beneficial to everyone in every way to begin with, but people are opposed to them for ridiculous personal principles.
Some righties are angry about old-style lightbulbs being phased out. Never mind that the new kind cost less and last longer. They feel that it's an ASSAULT FROM THE LEFT on their FREEDOM.
Some people just flat out refuse to accept facts.
