Certain species of these animals can "steal" DNA from any other organism they feed upon - even bacteria or fungi - and add the genes to their own chromosomes. For some, this completely replaces sexual reproduction and males have ceased to exist.

They´re like much cooler Kirbies. I remember seeing one for the first time and having no idea what I was looking at - I couldn´t find them in any of the books my uni supplied at that course. Later I found out what they were, but it took you to show me how awesome they truly are. :3
I also very much agree with a Scythemantis drawing to go with each article.
