Crab Vampire

CLASS: Vampire

This chicken-sized floating monster has no discernible front or back and can draw blood from any of the horns, claws and barbs on its body. When larger prey approaches death, it slices open the body, removes most of the internal organs and seals itself inside, controlling the decaying skin as an effective disguise to stalk its next meal.

In drier regions, these vampires have been known to "mummify" themselves and hibernate for many years, awakening to feed when they are touched by water.
