Mortasheen - Fangkite by scythemantis Mortasheen - Fangkite by scythemantis
Snake Vampire

CLASS: Vampire

Completely lacking internal organs in its paper-thin body, the Fangkite glides swiftly through the air and wraps tightly around prey like an elastic cocoon, draining blood through its teeth and rib spurs. It no longer requires the venom glands its former body may have possessed, but is able to subdue prey by rapidly absorbing and dispersing the victim's body heat, virtually freezing it alive in minutes.

Though it grows very little, the Fangkite molts every 2-3 feedings, and is able to control the empty skin with its mind, disorienting prey with an entire "flock" of hollow decoys.

I'd imagine a Fangkite would speak with a stereotypical snake voice, adding a "ssss" to every part of a word with "s" in it.

Did you design this after a glass eel (leptocephalus)?

How exactly can it live without internal organs?

It's a vampire, vampires don't have any normal biological processes that require most natural organs :p

Other then the fact this is vampiric, it looks almost real.

This is one of my favorite Mortasheens, because of the appearance as well as the clever description and hilariously evil name. However I think the head could've used more details to make it unique. It kind of looks like a stock reptile head.

I'm terrible at reptile heads, so rather than risk screwing up the body that I drew first and was kind of annoying to do, I gave it a super simple little jagged-toothed eel sort of face.
