"Shuffling Tar Pit"
This war-giant can be a tricky opponent in close combat, with thick bone and dense muscle beneath its putty-like, impossibly adhesive flesh. It deliberately sheds its sticky tissues in its footsteps, leaving a veritable minefield of glue traps as it slowly circles its enemies. Once caught, they face a hideous death by suffocation in the monster's embrace or a messy impalement on its massive tusks. It has even been known to tear off pieces of itself to hurl at more distant foes.
Doldrum feed only on bone, and will regurgitate the other soft tissues of prey in tarry pellets. They collapse into a puddle-like shape at rest, and are often used to fill trenches as a defensive tactic
This is one of a few Mortasheen monsters that I've sketched here and there for almost the entire time I've been doing these things, but somehow never felt up to the task of finishing until now. It's had a trunk off and on, different numbers of tusks, different numbers of eyes and gone through quadrupedal, legless or armless doodles and never seemed quite right. Today I just sort of spontaneously sat down and drew it full-size like this, and for now, I think it's perfect.
