After six years of drawing these monsters, I've finally done something WITH them.

Not much of a something, but something!

When the chainsaw kid bumped into the tar monster, he said,"Put me down you [Censored}!" And I'm just translating.

What was your animation process on this and how long did it take?

Just flash, which was almost the only thing anyone used to animate at the time but much better programs have gotten more popular.

I probably fiddled with it for half a year.

Oh snap, how did I miss this.
Fantastic work on this, it was really cool to see these creatures in motion, gives a better view of the world you've created.

Also, I thought it was really cool how the Chainsaw Kid communicated with the other monsters. Not to mention the little details like the crossing signs.

What the Heck was that thing?
A duck? A dinosaur? A mummy? A chainsaw? A Mummified Chainsaw-masked duckosaur?

It's one of my Mortasheen monsters, the Chainsaw Kid. It's no particular animal, just a creature created as a weapon, like all the others :)

Alright.
But you have to admit, it does look an awful lot like some kind of dino-duck.

yeah...though most of all I think of it as either platypus-like, or maybe like a "Nerd," you know, the candy mascot.

i thought the pestiquirms were pink, not red. hehe. my fav part was the when it fell the down the escarghoul well. very funny, it was very determined to catch the eye (what's the name?!) then he fell like daffy... hehe.

a twisted version of Looney Toons, indeed! :D

i love it. you need to get with a programmer and pixel artist to help get this thing going. now when it comes to monster raising games rpg maker is tailored for it, but i've seen some crazy mods done through script programming. i say if you can get a good rpg maker (2000, 2003, or XP version. each is kinda different, i like 2003) script writer to help with the engine, and someone to help with all the character sprites, i think you could at least get something small going. i mean look at Yume Nikki. one man with rpg maker and it doesn't even play like an rpg anymore. then you could send out the free stand alone version (like Yume Nikkis english version is) to the public and maybe attract more attention to get a game more to your original ideas made. you know, a stepping stone.

That's cool, and better-animated than some of the cartoons I watched as a kid. I like how you managed to work so many Mortasheen in without it seeming gratuitous. And the Octopire looks awesome!

That was utterly awesome-- kind of like a twisted-world Looney Toons! I'm gonna watch it, like, five more times.

My only complaint is that the soundtrack seemed a bit bland, but other than that it gets five stars. I love your animations, so please keep making them! n_n

YAYYYY! Finally we get to see mortasheen in action! Wonderful animation man, I loved how Chainsaw kid spoke in different tunes of chainsaw noises. That was very clever. I think you did the right choice on the ending too. It could have been cynical, but them being friends was kinda funnier and it touches on how some things in nature use symbiosis!

Works brilliantly as a kind of 'warner brothers' advert for mortasheen, what with the antagonist constantly screwing up. I thought it was great but I was cheering on the chainsaw-kid through the whole thing.

Wow. You should make more Mortasheen clips like these.

This is like your usual cat and mouse chase plot, but with grotesque but cute monsters as characters. Good work on it! After seeing this, I'm starting to like Mortasheen even more!

That was... I'm going to repeat everyone else and say it was adorable. I love how expressive you manage to make them! As macabre and creepy as their descriptions and designs would have a person think the Mortasheen monsters and their world were at a first glance, here you've done a wonderful job of bringing out those delicious pieces of whimsy that popped up in some way or another on so many of the creatures themselves. I really love it.

And, after following Mortasheen for so long, I was very delighted to see that you'd finally put them in one of your fantastic little flash videos. I loooove the Chainsaw Kid! MMMMOOOOOAR!

Wonderful! This was like the most disturbing Warner Bros cartoon of all time.

The world of Mortasheen was used quite nicely in this I think. Cute and yet freaky and frighting.

One of my favorite of your cartoons so far!

That...that was....ADORABLE <3 <3 <3

Strangely it reminded me of my childhood watching the Coyote chase the Roadrunner although in this case, it was a pair of utterly lovable abominations of nature.

I have a question though, was the lil' eyeball dude based on Kitaro's father from Ge Ge Ge no kitaro?
