A short cartoon incorporating some of my favorite aspects of biology and horror. Internet discussion of nightmare fuel, creepypasta and the uncanny valley have all contributed!
They're meant to be nameless and mysterious, but I did give nicknames to all the creatures so I could recognize the files, of course. In order of appearance:
-Bogglemen -Goliathan -Muzzle & Gnawbaby -Dumbo heads (inspired by the Ocean Sunfish, but it's probably not obvious) -Gaper and Sophagus (based on blobfish and basking sharks) -Chuckleheads!!! (also my favorite obsolete insult) -Void snort -Sex angler (lol, yeah) -Scrutiner (pretty much just the face of a deep-sea hatchetfish) -Spore angels (inspired by Clione, a type of sea slug) -Pucker & Nosey (actually based on "Pob" and "Noseybonk" from 80's television in the UK) -Peepers -Grumbler -The swallower
You've pretty much captured every nightmare I have about being trapped in the deep ocean in this short animation. I love the creature designs in this (and had fun guessing them, like the previous commenter).
That was fantastic--and very, very disturbing, of course! I liked the sound effects you used; they made it all the more creepy. And, of course, it goes without saying that every single one of your monsters were wonderfully terrifying.
